MAYBE BECAUSE THEY THOUGTH THAT THEY MUST TO LOOK INTELLIGENTS, AND THE MAYORITY TIMES THE PEOPLE BUY THE THINGS ONLY BECAUSE IN THE COMERCIALS AND THE PUBLICITY SAYS THAT IS THE BEST THING IN THE WORLD AND YOU MUT TO HAVE ONE OR YOU ARE OUT OF FASHION, IT'S A MERCHANDISE CUESTION ONLY, AND THE PERSONS ARE SURE THAT AND BELIEVE IN THAT!!!

    * Where else do you think this sort of mental trick applies?
WELL I THINK THAT TRICK APPLIES IN SODA COMERCIALS, AND JUNK FOOD, TO TRY TO CONVINCE TO BUY AND EAT THAT FOOD THY GOING TO SAID THAT THEIR FOOD IT'S HEALTY, BUT THE REALITY IT'S THAT THE JUNK FOOR IS BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH. AND THAT TRICK CAN BE APPLIES IN SOME POLITICAL CAMPAIGNS TO TRY TO CONVINCE YOU ABOUT THAT THEY ARE THE BEST CHOICE.

  2. 1.-Why, even when some if not most of the interviewees had the iphone 4s, did the interviewees feel that the phone presented to them was superior than the 4s?
I think is for a mental trick that happen when someone want to get a specific answer. If the conductor say that is a new product consequently we think that is better in all the ways, smaller, faster etc.
2.-Where else do you think this sort of mental trick applies?
When someone say that something is better, and other person says the same thing, consequently you start to find things that maybe it doesn't exist Like if you say a friend that some computer is better, some car is faster, the internet speed is faster, and this happen with all the products.

  3. * Why, even when some if not most of the interviewees had the iphone 4s, did the interviewees feel that the phone presented to them was superior than the 4s?
I think because they want to feel intelligents, or also because they really think that is different and it`s the "new" so they feel that their iphones wasn`t better than the other one just for believe that is new and is better.

    * Where else do you think this sort of mental trick applies?
really i don`t know but maybe in clothes, sometimes the people say that are better some clothes just because are for some "special" brand, when is the same. They just buy expensive clothes to feel more important or superior.

I think that people react like this because nobody wants to look ignorant in front on people and of course less in front of a camera and also the camera makes them feel insecure

  7. * Why, even when some if not most of the interviewees had the iphone 4s, did the interviewees feel that the phone presented to them was superior than the 4s? Because when the interviewer says that is the new I phone, automatically the interviewees think that is better than the last.
    * Where else do you think this sort of mental trick applies? I think that in all the products like computers, cell phones, food clothing etc. Sometimes a lot of people buy things just for the brand and because the product is the newest.

Because of the human being is insatiable and also people have became in a victim of the add, media and products, so for these reasons people use to want more and more things and above all, all the stuff that he/she can't get.
    * Where else do you think this sort of mental trick applies?
Actually, it applies in everything, we can see it in the clothes because of it changes with the over the time, but the majority of them prefers to be updated in the tecnologic stuff. On this century, we are considered as a marketing victims.

    * Where else do you think this sort of mental trick applies?
In products like: computers, clothes, houses, cars, mobil phone, food, and also the people do this kind of experiments is just for know if the people believe all.

  11. *****Because they thought the cellphone was the brand new Iphone 5, but It was the same Iphone 4s, they couldn't see the cellphone in theirs hads was the Iphone 4s.
The changes on the new cellphones always are a little changes, more or less cellphone size, a better screen, or maybe the system, these changes in comparison with the old cellphone , don't make better te new one.

*****Everything, the human brain is easy to manipulate, the companies always create a new brand things for the people interesting in these things and after buy it.

the clothes, cars, home products, computers, systems in general and other things always be a target to do that.

In comparison, witout know the product; we can't differentiate the old product with new brand.

Because the interviewees believe in what the interviewer told without having analyzed the phone. Also the reporter tells them that the phone is new and people think it's better.

    * Where else do you think this sort of mental trick applies?
In all products such as gadgets, phones, cars, clothing, beauty products and computers

It is because some people want to prove that they are smart, that they know a lot of technology etc. So do not pretend to be smart to look bad. But not all the things we sell are of good quality.
    * Where else do you think this sort of mental trick applies?
In many products such as computers, televisions, cars, phones, beauty products, bicycles etc.

GOD!!!!jaja i dont understand why people do that.. maybe the culture is change and i think our culture make us to think that is good to be in fashion with the best technology and in this case about the iphone 5 people fall in the lies and they create a false idea about the things with the helps of the media :/

  15. this experiment is very interesting because you can look how the people fall with the interviewer questions and the fake IPhone 5 presentation, and I think interviewees didn't want that the interviewer and spectators think that they didn't know and for pressure.

  18. Because the marketing used the companies are so good than they create the idea one number or one letter or inclusive the color make a big diferrence in the way to operate a product

I think this kind of trick use in all the products. from laptos to food.

  19. 'Cause the people thinks that "If it's new It's Better" In some cases it is, but in another it is the same think with different name like "Iphone 4 to Iphone 4 S" A single number or word can make all change.

    In cars, computers, videogames.. etc.

  20. 1. It's a common sense. The advance of technology is very fast and forgive us new things. Talk about cells is normal considerer a new cell phone is better than the last one. Such as in the video, people compared the iphone 4 with the new iphone: iphone 5

    2. Some people note the mental trick applies and their reaction was different.
